Welcome to St John Fisher Library
St John Fisher’s Library is more than a place to borrow books. It is a special place for students to gather, collaborate, socialise, learn, create, and relax. It is a place of inclusivity and belonging and serves as the heart of our school.
Marian students and families can access a meticulously curated and contemporary collection of resources including Non-Fiction and Fiction books, graphic novels, magazines, picture books, websites, and electronic databases in a dynamic and vibrant hub of learning and discovery.

St John Fisher Library strives to foster a lifelong love of reading through providing our students many opportunities to explore boundless imagination and enjoy endless stories with each class visiting the library for a 30-minute borrowing session each week. The library is also open during big lunch for students to enjoy, Monday to Thursday each week. Reading Club is held before school from 8am on Thursday and Friday for students to take part in some quiet reading to start their day, parents are most welcome to also come along!
Marian Students can borrow the following quantities of library books during class borrowing:
- Prep - 1 Book, Library bag required
- Year 1 - 2 Books, Library bag required
- Year 2 - 2 Books, Library bag required
- Year 3 - 2 Books, Library bag required
- Year 4 - 3 Books, Library Bag optional
- Year 5 - 3 Books, Library Bag optional
- Year 6 - 3 Books, Library Bag optional
School Library Bags can be purchased from the school office.
Literary events and programs such as Queensland Premiers Reading Challenge, Readers Cup, CBCA Book Week, National Simultaneous Storytime, Australian Reading hour and Scholastic Book Club, also provide Marian students with many opportunities to celebrate their love of reading throughout the school year.
